For example, the game no longer wants you to slow play an encounter and heal up (a common tactic in the first Darkest Dungeon), as potent healing abilities have long cooldowns, minimum health requirements or both. And the road to victory will be a rocky one, as the unforgiving difficulty level and sheer amount of bad luck can end even the most promising of runs in an instant. But it's all a rather slow burn, as unlocking new item types, characters and abilities takes a long time to become impactful. They also come with their own backstories now, explaining their origins and gaining new skills as you delve deeper into them bit by bit. Most of the characters from the first game are still here, with some having their skills greatly adjusted to the new gameplay formula. The game is no longer about managing a group of "gladiators", but rather choosing a team of four for each run. Instead of handling a village full of the occult and evil, in Darkest Dungeon II the player is now pushed on the road in a more traditional roguelite spirit, where each playthrough is different, and full of random events and happenings. The first game rose to fame after several years and big patches, so Red Hook Studios might be able to repeat the same success even after the divisive first impressions. Darkest Dungeon II is a tough one to review due to its past.

Played Rome: Total War, a game that is older than this, but works fine in Windows 10, which upset me more about this not working.ġ0. I bought this game for me and a friend several months ago when I was still using Windows 8.1, and it worked fine. Be fast and look out! Melee weapons, as well as unarmed combat, can only be used in close combat, thus only one dweller with a melee attack can fight a given enemy at the same time while melee dwellers without an enemy can only look on. Shown on the weapon card or in the inventory screen, weapons can be Common, Rare, or Legendary. Weapon value in caps: The value of the weapon when sold from the inventory screen in caps. Damage: The damage caused by the weapon, which can be a fixed number, e.g. The damage for the weapons shown here are listed as normal for each weapon (no prefixes). 44 does 3-4 damage and is Common, while the hardened variant does 3-6 damage and is Rare. In addition, for Common and Rare weapons, the "Hardened" prefix will raise the Rareness up one tier. These weapons can be equipped by the vault dwellers with focus on protecting themselves during exploration of the wasteland, from feral ghoul, raider, deathclaw, and radscorpion attacks, or radroach and mole rat infestations.Īll weapons found in Fallout Shelter have "Rusty," "Enhanced," "Focused," "Hardened" and other versions which will subtract or add damage to the weapon. There are 139 unlockable weapons that can be found during Fallout Shelter's gameplay. But I still very much miss higher end content. When I am able to do any Raid Finder raids I'm a bit proud of myself for having no Mythic experience, far from the top ilvl but still consistently landing on top 5 of higher at the end of raids. So it's very hard to commit to static Mythic/Raid groups or a guild. On top of that, due to my schedule there are days when I can play a LOT, or I'll randomly have to take a break from the game without knowing for how long. But the way things work these days it feels very unforgiving, which doesn't really help anyone's anxiety. I understand games can change and evolve so do their communities. Patiently, like to do dungeons at a good pace (neither rushing nor too slow) and be understanding of others if they are still learning the ropes and want to take it slow, avoid instantly insulting others for messing something up (which can lead to people becoming agitated, groups disbanding, people becoming more hostile, etc) and others. While I play really well, there's a weird anxiety that constantly hovers because I know I'm not as good as I used to be and have been in groups where I got kicked out in the past for very small mistakes, or for failing a certain boss mechanic one single time.īut I still very much play the game how I used to. These days every time I come back to the game. And due to a certain health condition getting worse I feel like my memory, focus, response times and reflexes aren't as good. An MMO never stops and constantly changes. Managed to get to rank 13 in Vanilla WoW (before I stopped PVPing and the rank slowly fell off) alongside a good friend of mine, Able, a Rogue and one of the best PVPers in the server at the time. I was extremely confident in my skills and knew the ins and outs of my Main class, a druid. Up until mid to late Cataclysm I raided hardcore. This is amazing and something I've been considering on doing (on a smaller and server-only scale though) myself due to anxiety. But when this sort of ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ rng insta-kill ♥♥♥♥ happens, I'm not having any of it. I made a mistake so I'll learn from said mistake. If it was a mistake I made, I'd live with it. There was literally NOTHING I could have done to save him from that. Brought to Death's Door in one hit by the giant, and then killed by his buddy who had his turn right after. An 80 damage crit and deathblow on the attack right after, he was buffed to ♥♥♥♥ with resistances, had pretty much the highest hp possible in this game, and was still killed in 2 turns. And I do have plenty of other heroes, I've got about 10 other legends of almost every class, but I don't want to spend about 5 hours building up a new leper, especially since I've grown attached to the last one, and I lost him because of ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ RNG rather than real difficulty. And I've beaten every Dark Souls game over 10 times, Including Fume Knight Raime on NG-9 with a broken ladle. I don't really care how much it means or doesn't mean, but losing a hero I've been building up for over 3 months (I don't play the game very often, maybe twice a week for 2 or 3 dungeons) is most definitely NOT fun for me. Originally posted by OakenWall:if you going to cheat whats the point of playing anyway, beat the game would mean nothing.I bet you have plenty of other heroes to build up and make new legends, its part of the fun. |
